Council Staff Spotlight featuring Brionnea Williams-McClary

This month, we are featuring Council staff Brionnea Williams-McClary. Brionnea Williams-McClary, M.A., J.D. has been an agent of Social Justice for over 15 years. She is a Spelman Alumna and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. As a mother of one daughter that received her Divers Certification and twin boys on the Autism Spectrum, she is very busy coordinating learning activities with the Black Girls Dive Foundation and advocating for developmentally appropriate practices for differently abled-children. Both Brionnea and her husband have a Child Development Associate (CDA®) Credential. 

Her experience in Early Childhood Education (ECE) includes work as an Infant-Toddler Specialist, Infant-Toddler, and Preschool Teacher. She served the Federal government for 6-years where she synthesized regulations in order to benefit women, children, and families. She is formerly a Visiting Assistant Professor of Women's Studies and Law for the University of Cincinnati, College of Arts and Sciences.

Brionnea was awarded the ABA John J. Curtin Fellowship for Homelessness and Poverty in 2005 while in law school. In 2018, she was recognized by the Federal Executive Board for her work in the Office of Child Care, and in 2021, she received an award from the ACF for Notable Achievements of a Group. She joined the Council for Professional Recognition at their inaugural Direct of Public Policy in January 2022.
