Council Staff Spotlight featuring Larissa Norris

This month we’re featuring our Training & Development Coordinator, Larissa Norris!  Larissa primarily supports our Professional Development Specialist (PDS) community, and through her three years at the Council so far, Larissa has developed a passion for ECE, supporting early educators and furthering the profession. 

Larissa has a background in PR, Radio, TV/video production, and marketing. As a daughter and granddaughter of teachers, education has always been an incredibly important part of her life.  After teaching elementary school for 30+ years, Larissa’s mother taught early childhood education at a community college that is now a partner of the Council. “I’ve always wanted to get into education in some way, “ she says, “and I couldn’t think of a better way than this!” In fact, she’s been so inspired by the role that she is now pursuing her Master of Education in Learning Design & Technology from Arizona State University.

In addition to her role at the Council, Larissa is also a professional makeup artist with over 10 years of experience in bridal makeup and more.  In her spare time, she also loves participating in theatre in various on and off-stage roles, including actor, producer, assistant director, makeup designer, and costume designer. So far, she has won five awards for theatrical makeup design.
