Council Staff Spotlight featuring Jaymel Mabry

Published on June 13, 2022

Jaymel Mabry of Birmingham, Al is the proud husband of Kenyardia Mabry who has been married for 19 years. Together they have raised three wonderfully talented children Kemia, Anyiah, and Ethan. During this union, Jaymel discovered his passion for working with people which led to several opportunities in sales. His career in sales took off while working at UniFirst Cooperation where many relationships were fostered. He discovered placing customers' needs before others were the key to success in this field. Jaymel quickly worked his way up the cooperate ladder by administering a white-glove mentality for customer service. Using this approach led him to seek other opportunities on a larger platform. In October 2020, he applied and was rewarded the position of Bookstore Merchandise Manager at the Council for Professional Recognition in Washington, D.C. Also in 2020, he received his bookstore owner certification at the International Association of Professional Career College. Under his leadership, the bookstore has been making tremendous progress and it will only get better. Jaymel vision is to win people by treating them the way he wants to be treated (WITH RESPECT).

He has obtained a Bachelor's and Master’s Degree from North Carolina College of Theology in Wilmington, North Carolina. Jaymel was employed with the A.G Gaston Boys and Girls Club of America in Birmingham, AL for over 2 years as a tutor and mentor. Not only does he take pride in his profession, but he also takes pride in his community. In 2022 Jaymel and his wife launched an Outreach program called Touch One Community Outreach feeding the homeless and mentoring youth and young adults throughout the city.
